Join our team in one of the fulfilling roles we have available:
Firefighter
(Ages 18 and up)
Jump into action year-round, responding to any call, woods to water. As a district, we face challenging rescues including fire suppression, auto extractions, water rescues, dive calls and other water related incidents. This role requires completion of 2 levels at our world-class Fire Academy, as well as a valid driver’s license.
Junior Firefighter
(Ages 16-17)
Serve your community alongside firefighters at local events and gain experience and the skills necessary to take on the responsibilities of a trained firefighter under supervision. Seasonal Firefighter
(Ocean Beach only)
Not a full-time resident of Toms River? We’ve always got room for seasonal volunteers to aid the increased call volume in the summer months.“I volunteer for the people. The community, the firefighters before me, and the firefighters after me.”
